WiMAX Service Quality Testing

ISP-I for WiMAX™ allows WiMAX Operators and WiMAX Infrastructure Vendors to test all consumer services delivered via any WiMAX network. It is the World's only Software-as-a-service (SaaS) WiMAX testing platform to allow the scheduling and measurement of real user test sessions in any WiMAX deployment. ISP-I™ WiMAX reports real-time IP-based service delivery metrics (not simulated) based on the quality of actual services as experienced by subscribers - freeing up your company's talent from repetitive testing.

Characterise your network with real Voice and Data applications Extensive test functionality is seamlessly and naturally integrated into the system. Each WiMAX test probe supports: Voice (ATA Support, SIP Soft-client, WiMAX Handsets), Video Streaming, TCP throughput, UDP, HTTP, MMS, FTP, SMTP, POP3, PING(ICMP), DNS and many more applications and KPIs.

Capacity Testing determines the capacity of your WiMAX infrastructure to support a specified level of varying priority users for a given QoS service level by measuring the underlying performance of broadband sessions for a given QoS class in the presence of a mix of varying priority test sessions

Service Assurance Testing characterises the capabilties of your WiMAX netowkr when handling a constant service load in the presence of changing best effort traffic, by measuring the achieved service levels of high priority traffic as lower priority traffic varies. This can effectively validate infinitely-variable complex usage scenarios.

Traffic Handling Priority Testing determines the performance, capacity and service quality metrics offered by your WiMAX network in the presence of multiple service data flows.

Instantly correlate IP measurements against underlying PHY measurements
Many measurements are important to characterise a WiMAX network end-to-end. Some examples such as Received-Signal-Strength-Indicator (RSSI), Carrier-to-Interference-Ratio (CIR), Carrier-to-Interference-plus-noise-Ratio (CINR), Signal-to-Interference-Ratio (SIR), Signal-to-Interference-plus-noise-Ratio (SINR) must be considered. ISP-I for WiMAX can record and correlate these PHY layers KPIs to the actual IP & VoIP-based metrics and help to ensure a thorough undersdtanding of the entire system's performance.

Key System Features

  • Real end-to-end testing ensures total confidence
The use of your WiMAX CPE for testing ensures that the QoS engineering in the WiMAX network will treat the service data flows correctly - a more effective approach for checking QoS than using simulated services. Because the entire test platform uses real user equipment, complex tests can be performed with total confidence in the outcome.
  • Highly Concurrent and linearly scalable testing
Any traffic profile can be scaled linearly by simply adding more computing hardware, and this can be accomplished wihout having to rewrite or otherwise modify test cases. Unlimited concurrent tests from real WiMAX devices can be scheduled and executed by the test suite effortlessly.
  • Full Automation Support
Test cases may be fully automated and allow the end user to interact with the system through an administraion and planning interface.
  • QoE Characterization
A key aspect of the system is that it allows the end subscriber's experience to be characterized through a number of key performance indicators (KPIs). For each KPI the system reports the mean and standard deviation, and allows drill down into individual tests
  • Soak Testing
Model and soak-test service data flows under sustained load for any time period using advanced scheduling capabilities. Ability to load network with multiple Voice, Video and Data clients with varying QoS requirements provides a means of identifying the actual traffic levels where the QoS becomes unacceptable
